Introducing Olyra: Why We Built an AI Operational Intelligence Company
I've spent the last 20+ years watching companies invest billions into technology—and watching 60-70% of those investments fail to deliver the promised ROI. I've worked in healthcare, enterprise SaaS, and complex operations environments. I've seen AI hype cycles come and go. And here's what I've learned: most companies don't have an AI problem. They have an operational intelligence problem.
They're drowning in data but can't see the patterns that cost them millions. They're implementing AI in silos—a machine learning model here, an automation tool there—without understanding how those pieces fit into the actual business. And when something goes wrong operationally, they find out weeks or months after the fact, when the damage is already done.
That's why we built Olyra.
The Problem I Kept Seeing
In 2024-2025, enterprise AI spending accelerated dramatically. Companies were finally moving beyond pilots. But McKinsey's research showed something sobering: only 31% of companies using generative AI reported revenue growth from it, per McKinsey. Most were dealing with rising costs, security concerns, and implementation chaos.
Here's the pattern I kept noticing across sectors—healthcare, logistics, retail, manufacturing: companies were solving the wrong problem. They'd bring in consultants to implement the latest AI platform, or hire teams to build machine learning models, but they never asked the fundamental question: what is actually broken in your operations, and will AI fix it?
The gap between strategy and execution is massive. A Chief Operating Officer or VP of Operations might have budget to modernize their tech stack, but they don't have visibility into the operational blind spots that AI could actually solve. They're working with data that's 2-3 days old, from systems that don't talk to each other. Manual reconciliation, siloed metrics, delayed alerts on critical problems—these aren't sexy issues. But they cost millions.
In healthcare, organizations have struggled with broken scheduling algorithms—a challenge documented by Harvard Business Review that was causing provider burnout and patient wait times to spike—but they didn't know the root cause because the data lived in three different systems. In logistics, a company was losing 8-12% of margins to procurement inefficiencies, but visibility stopped at individual department dashboards. In retail, customer churn patterns that were obvious in the data weren't getting to decision makers until the damage was done.
And in every case, the real solution wasn't a complex AI implementation. It was operational intelligence.
Building for Real Outcomes
I founded Olyra with a simple mandate: help mid-market companies uncover their operational blind spots and act on them—fast. Not hype. Not AI for AI's sake. Real outcomes.
We built two products to do this:
Our Consulting Service — we come in, we listen to the pain—the operational inefficiencies, the data silos, the blind spots. We apply our methodology (Assess → Illuminate → Accelerate) to uncover what's really costing you money. And we don't leave you with a report. We deliver a roadmap with prioritized, implementable changes. Our clients typically see 23% operational efficiency improvements within 120 days.
Our Platform is our real-time operational intelligence solution. Once we've identified what matters, it gives you the visibility you need to act on it every day. It connects your data silos, surfaces anomalies and risks in real-time, and helps you make faster, better decisions.
We're based in São Paulo and Miami, serving companies across North America and Brazil—logistics companies, retail networks, manufacturers, services firms. We're a team of 17 right now, but we're growing because the demand for this is real and urgent.
Why Now?
The timing feels right because enterprise teams are finally past the AI euphoria phase. They're asking harder questions. They want partners who understand their business, not vendors selling the shiniest tool. And operational intelligence—the ability to see what's happening in your business in real-time and respond—is becoming table-stakes competitive advantage.
Companies that can close the gap between the data they have and the decisions they make will win. Those that stay fragmented and slow will lose margin, efficiency, and talent every quarter.
That's what Olyra is here to solve.
What's Next
We're building and scaling our consulting and platform offerings over the next few months. We're also building a community—the AI Enabler Community—where operations leaders can learn from each other, share patterns, and pilot new approaches together.
If you're tired of AI hype and ready to talk about real operational intelligence—the kind that actually moves the needle on efficiency, margin, and decision velocity—let's talk. Book a 30-minute consultation, or reach out to sales@olyra.ai.
