Vendor Evaluation Scorecard
Every vendor demos well. These ten questions find out what happens after the demo — score them honestly and the contract conversation changes.
How do you evaluate an AI vendor? Score ten dimensions before signing: proof-of-concept on your data, reproducible accuracy claims, contractual training-data exclusions, export and exit rights, demonstrated integrations, admitted limitations, transparent pricing at your volumes, human-review workflow for low-confidence output, usable audit logs, and comparable references. Two points each; below 10 of 20, you're buying a demo. Resolve every zero in writing before commitment.
Is the vendor selling a system — or a demo?
Ten questions to run before the contract, not after. Score each honestly: 2 = clearly yes, 1 = partially / unclear, 0 = no.
2 = clearly yes · 1 = partial or unclear · 0 = no
When the score is contested
Vendors dispute scores — good ones respond with evidence. If you want the evaluation run independently, with a structured PoC and negotiation support, that's our Vendor Selection & Procurement Advisory: we take no vendor commissions, so the score means what it says.
